This year the Assistance League of Huntington Beach celebrates 60 years of making a difference in the neighboring communities of Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, and Westminster. As a nonprofit all-volunteer organization, we proudly remain true to our mission to improve the quality of life for children and adults in our community.
Through our philanthropic programs, we touch the lives of the needy in many ways- providing clothes, backpacks, and school supplies to children; going to schools to provide dental and vision screenings; awarding nursing scholarships, nurturing at-risk students who earn college scholarships; clothing the homeless and abused; providing grocery coupons and bus passes to seniors; sponsoring therapeutic riding lessons for children; sponsoring children in the Junior Lifeguard program; supplying hospitals and police departments with teddy bears for children in crisis; awarding teacher grants for important educational items for the classroom; and helping new teachers get off to successful starts in their classrooms.
Support for these endeavors comes from our Thrift Shop, annual fundraiser, donations, and grants. We welcome your financial assistance in any of these areas.
We are a dynamic and varied group of about 200 women, including a professional women's DreamCatcher's Auxiliary, and an Assisteens® Auxiliary with 85 members. All of us work together to make our community a better place.
If you are interested in volunteering and having fun while helping your community, please consider becoming a member.
We hope you will consider joining us or support our Thrift Store and annual fundraiser.
